“We look forward to partnering with the City of Richfield on next steps toward realizing the MNCC’s vision through this state-of-the-art velodrome,” remarked Jason Lardy, President of MNCC. “Our shared dedication to health, well-being, and community will come to life within these walls. The velodrome will stand as a bustling hub for cyclists of all ages and abilities to connect, learn, compete, and mutually inspire.”

The velodrome’s design places a strong emphasis on sustainability, incorporating eco-conscious materials and energy-efficient technologies. Ensuring spectator comfort, seating arrangements offer multiple viewpoints for fans to soak in the excitement of every thrilling moment. The facility will host a variety of training programs, workshops, and events catering to cyclists of all ages and skill levels. The proposed facility will also house indoor recreational courts accessible to Richfield residents that could be used for basketball, volleyball, or the rising sport of pickleball.

Mayor Mary Supple of Richfield expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration in a Finance & Commerce interview, “I was very excited to see the proposal because it’s going to be a regional draw for our community. We are excited to see where this goes. I think it would be a great amenity for Richfield.”

Anticipated to capture both local and national attention, the velodrome is poised to attract athletes and spectators, uniting them through the shared passion for cycling.

Together, MNCC and the City of Richfield are excited about the possibilities of making the velodrome a regional attraction that also supports community unity and local programming.
